We are thrilled to have Andrew Campbell as a valued member of the CAISSA team. Andrew is a Senior Wealth Advisor specializing in high-net-worth client experience, including cash flow, estate, insurance, and wealth transfer planning.

To get to know him better, we put together a list of questions and had him answer them:

  • How do you stay updated with industry trends and news?
    • Andrew: We have a fantastic think tank within CAISSA and are regularly meeting as a Wealth Planning discipline to talk through how we keep our planning delivery fresh and current. This includes the tools we use in delivering our planning experience, keeping tabs on changes in legislation, and annual updates to relevant IRS planning numbers. Also, each member of our Planning team has their CFP designation, which mandates a certain degree of ongoing continuing education. This happens via in-person symposiums, as well as through online learning opportunities and networking with our various centers of influence (attorneys, accountants, etc.).
  • What do you think sets our wealth management company apart from others?
    • Andrew: CAISSA is such a special place, both for our employees and our clients. It sounds cliché, but we are lucky to work with a great group of people who are genuinely concerned with doing good work. Culturally, our focus is, without question, client first. Kelly built the company on the principle that we are to be a client’s personal CFO, and that means ALWAYS acting in their best interest. Clients can rest assured that any piece of advice we are providing has nothing to do with how we, as employees or the company, will benefit – it is always in the best interest of the client.
  • What hobby or interest (outside of work) are you passionate about?
    • Andrew: Architecture and design. Ever since I was a kid, I have always had a strong interest in residential home design – I regularly drew floor plans as a hobby/pastime and still to this day don’t miss an opportunity to make my way through the Parade of Homes and/or Artisan Home Tour.
  • Who would it be if you could have dinner with any historical figure, celebrity, political figure, etc.?
    • Andrew: This is a hard question. I don’t have a lot of celebrity or political idols. If I could choose someone who is not necessarily well known, I would say my maternal grandfather. He passed away many years before I was born, and I never got a chance to know him. I have been fortunate to have a number of “grand persons” in my life, but he is the only grandparent I never had a chance to meet.
  • What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy workday?
    • Andrew:  Lately I have been making a real effort to walk for at least a couple miles a day. Part of the motivation is trying to get my daily recommended steps in, but I have found a good walk is very calming and helps to organize any lingering thoughts or stresses from the day. Beyond that, a strong shout-out to a little reality television and a great meal – those also aid in the unwinding process.
  • What is the best piece of advice you have received?
    • Andrew: I don’t know that it is advice so much as it is a maxim I heard years ago and remind myself of often – “comparison is the thief of all joy.” There is such a strong temptation to compare oneself to others, particularly in a world where social media commands so much of our attention. With everyone sharing their highlight real, it is tempting to be hard on yourself. That piece of wisdom is a good reminder to keep your head down and focus on your own path, as that is the only one that will bring contentment.
  • Share a skill or talent that you have that people may not know.
    • Andrew: Ordering the full menu at a restaurant and still being hungry. I am kidding a little bit, but I really do love to eat, and food is a real passion. It’s definitely a known talent, but friends and family often comment on how much I can eat and still be on the prowl for more food!
